Honestly, what makes a geek a geek? I don't really know. I can't put it into words. It's someone who has a passion, I guess. You can be a geek about anything in particular.
I got a friend. He loves video games. I like playing too, but they are like, his life. I look at video games and see a fun pastime. He looks at video games and he sees art. I bet he's gonna be a game developer. Or designer. Something. It's his passion.
I'm not passionate about much anything. I have a few things that I hold to a higher regard than others, but I'm not necessarily passionate about them. I like writing, but I bet I'm not going to be an author. I like doing impressions and stuff, but as much as it disappoints me, I'm probably not going to be a voice-actor.
I'll probably be another Mickey D's server or a bagger at a grocery store for the rest of my life. Truthfully, putting passion into fandoms (yes, a fandom, not a hobby) that I enjoy has only gotten me into trouble (I'm sure you can imagine).
I'm probably never going to rise over the title of "no one". I don't mind that as much. I'm just a talentless guy who loves a lot of random junk. I don't really have a plan for when I move out. Might just join the military and fritter my life away doing nothing.
You know, it also just occurred to me that that's a big problem. In schools, kids get taught to have all the smarts to "have the keys to as many doors as possible in life". Screw that. Teach them to find passion and take whatever damn key they want.

Whadya know?
Can you believe it? I can't. I teamed up with 4 other guys I know about a year ago. We wanted to become a big group of gamers and online entertainers. Well, it was a while before we actually achieved anything.
But this past week, we worked together on a few Fallout: New Vegas articles which we posted online (at wikiHow). In just over a week, we earned the title of Featured Author.
I had already been a Featured Author before, but it took me a full year before that. It makes me proud that teaming up, we can do something like that.
I still have high hopes for all of us. I really want us to make it. Okay, I doubt we're gonna get famous, or even largely noticed at all, but I'm happy just being a small-time entertainer. We still got a long way to go before we even hit that mark, but we're getting there.
We should do this again sometime!

Not everything. Not yet.
Just gonna do a short one real quick.
A while ago, I posted on DeviantArt about why I was interested in My Little Pony, yet not a brony. My conclusion was that I was simply not ready to engage in the community. After all, you can like something without falling into the fandom.
Recently, I have pondered my choice, though. I want to explain a bit more before I tell you why.
Of the reasons pushing, "Yes! Join the bronies," I included:
But still, I'm kind of nervous about the "interaction", tidbit. I can barely hold a conversation in real life, and I don't fare much better online. But still, I'm trying.
But there's still one last itty-bitty little problem: I have yet to watch a full episode.
Minds were blown. I know, I know, scandalous. But in my own defense, we don't have television, and I can't afford to pay to watch it online. I've seen piles upon piles of clips from the show, just never a full episode. I have no idea where they are available on disc sets.
I'd like to say that I'm a brony through and through, but I guess I'm just not quite there yet. Oh well. See you on the other side.

Of the reasons pushing, "Yes! Join the bronies," I included:
- Appealing animation
- Excellent voice-acting
- Tends to cheer me up
- It's kyut!
- Pop culture references (eh... I guess)
- Relate-able
- Creative cast of characters
- Music (it's good, for the most part)
But still, I'm kind of nervous about the "interaction", tidbit. I can barely hold a conversation in real life, and I don't fare much better online. But still, I'm trying.
